This summer, the Roxborough Development Corporation (RDC) will expand its celebration of green spaces and community with a new series, Roots of Roxborough. The RDC is taking its Friday at the Pocket Park series on the road, visiting local community spaces to connect more deeply with our community parks and historic properties.

The Roots of Roxborough event series will be hosted on select Saturdays from 12 - 4 PM in partnership with Friends of Kelly Park, Friends of Fairview Park, and the Roxborough Home for Women. Join us for Roots of Roxborough on the following dates:

August 24 | Friends of Kelly Park,

6170 Ridge Avenue

September 14 | Roxborough Home for Women, 601 Leverington Avenue

October (Date Forthcoming) | Fairview Park, 4418 Manayunk Avenue

The Roots of Roxborough event series will showcase the beautiful community parks that call Roxborough home. Community members will get to spend a relaxing afternoon in some of the great green spaces that Roxborough has to offer while enjoying live music, family friendly activities and conversations with community organizations and business owners.

“Roots of Roxborough is a vibrant celebration of our community's parks and green spaces.” Said Jax Cusack, Executive Director of Roxborough Development Corporation. “This event honors the natural beauty and rich history that define our neighborhood, bringing together residents and visitors alike to appreciate and enjoy the green heart of Roxborough."

The Roots of Roxborough event series runs alongside the Roxborough Development Corporation’s annual Third Fridays in the Pocket Park event series. Third Fridays will feature locally brewed beer and award-winning food from New Ridge Brewing Company, as well as live music, kid’s activities, themed vendors, and food trucks in the Roxborough Pocket Park (6170 Ridge Avenue) from 5 - 8 PM on the third Friday every month from June through September.
