Like us, you’ve probably been watching the New Ridge Brewing Company take shape. The long-anticipated brewery and restaurant opens on Friday, June 26th at noon!
“We will start by filling 32 oz. cans called “crowlers” to go on Friday, June 26th,” said Vince DesRosiers, who created New Ridge with operating partners Chris and Eric Endrikat. “Then we will open our patio for seating on Friday, July 3rd and eventually our restaurant. We are adhering to state and city guidelines for obvious safety reasons. This isn’t how we envisioned our grand opening, but we are rolling with it. Either way, the beer still tastes delicious… so LET’S GO!”

New Ridge will be open Wednesday through Sunday from 12 pm to 8 pm and offer five varieties of craft beers. “We will always have our West Coast IPA and Helles Lager on tap and then rotate specials around them,” said DesRosiers.
“Our opening lineup will be Helles Lager – a golden, easy to drink Lager, New Ridge IPA -a West Coast style IPA, dry, citrus and dank. German Pilsner – a dry, spicy, traditional Pilsner, Coffee Stout – a full bodied, roast with caramel, and coffee flavors., Belzer’s Tripel – a Belgian Tripel with 50 pounds of orange blossom honey, a dry finish, and a slight fruit finish.”
Desrosiers has been a Roxborough resident for more than 10 years. Chris and Erik Endrikat, brothers who have been in the neighborhood all their lives, saw the Roxborough location as the best choice for many reasons, outside of it being their home.
“It fits right into the neighborhood,” said Desrosiers.
Their location at 6168 Ridge Avenue offered features that the three owners could not pass up and have incorporated into the ambiance of the brewery. New Ridge stands next to the Roxborough Pocket Park, so they knocked out portions of an existing brick wall to create windows and drink rails with views of the park’s trees, native plantings, and passersby. The mural painted on the opposite wall will bring color and art to an outdoor dining area as well.
“It made a lot of sense to us to do it. I would want to sit out here and drink beer!” said Desrosiers. “Without the park, we wouldn’t have done it. It adds so much to what we are trying to do.”

“The Roxborough Development Corporation has been in our corner since day one and has been very supportive.” Said DesRosiers. “They deserve so much credit for the time and effort they put into to helping us get our doors open. They care about Roxborough so much and it’s evident with their initiatives. We can’t wait to continue to support them.”
There’s so much room for growth in the community,” he added. “The people who live here care about quality and want good places around them for them to go to. It’s right outside of Philly, you’re a two-minute drive from the Wissahickon; it’s still a small community with a ton of upsides.”
“The thing is we are all from here. My kids are growing up here,” Desrosiers said. “Seeing this neighborhood be as good as it can possibly be, seeing people help and take care of each other, we feel like we could be a good place for those conversations to happen.”
We landed on the name “New Ridge” because we wanted to be part of the revitalization of Ridge Avenue. We’ve heard the stories from our family about how Ridge Avenue was the heart and soul of Roxborough when they were growing up. A place where they would go shopping and go out on a date. The name comes from our appreciation of Ridge Avenue’s history and our excitement for its future. We want to be a big part of that future,” said DesRosiers.

“Our logo came from the iconic Roxborough towers. We had a conversation about how you can see them at night from miles away in every direction and when you are driving towards them, you know you are close to home. They make you feel comfortable.”
